Why busy working mom's need the Apple Watch...

Here are my reasons all mom's need the Apple Watch... (AKA iWatch)

1)   In one swipe you can find your lost iPhone-  making your iPhone PING (loudly)

You know you lose your phone-  a ton!   You are getting kids ready, running around- throw your phone on your bed.  Come by and attempt to MAKE the bed, then throw your Pajama's on the bed (hey, they are clean, wear them again after the sniff test)...and you just buried your iPhone.    One swipe on the apple Watch- and PING!!!  Phone found!
Or like my last scary Target run-- buried my phone in my purse when I had BOTH my kids with me at Target (I do not recommend this, nor do I EVER do this..what the f**k was I thinking).    I got to my car and could not find my phone.  STUPID me- forgets about my watch...runs back into TARGET panicked- NOPE...no one turned in a phone.    I look at my watch is says "disconnected" telling me I am out of service from it (proximity).    I return to my car (having an anxiety attack) and ping my phone--PING!!  There it was- at the bottom of the side pocket of my purse.    -breathe... in...out...

If you are finding yourself looking for your iPhone way too often- then the apple Watch is MADE for you!     That service alone is worth the $$$$.

2)  My "need" for my phone has decreased 70% at work.

As long as you are on the same wifi at work, your Watch mirrors your phone.  So I can walk to north campus and leave my phone behind.  I get emails, texts, phone calls!       Many times I have left my phone in my purse ALL day and forgotten to take it out.   I have no need for my phone.  Let's be real- all my phone calls are telemarketers, and I only use text/iMessaging anyways!  My Apple Watch does all of this- on my wrist!    My battery life also is doubled on my iPhone 6Plus since I do not use my phone anymore.

3) It calculates calories burned + some.

The Activity app is cool (I still miss my Fitbit).   It does shake at you each hour to get up and move (which I have no problems meeting that goal daily).   Although not cool when you are sitting watching football on Sundays.     You can also use the Workout app to start a workout to track calories burned (which is SUPER cool)!    It does count steps - but I feel the Fitbit did a better job telling me how many steps I did throughout the day.      Too many clicks/pushes to get to my steps with the Apple Watch- I wish there was a update every 3 hours telling me my steps.   I may be putting my Fitbit back on because I do miss a few features of the Fitbit.
Runners-  you can run without your phone with the Series 2.  It stores your stats and when you get back near your phone- it syncs the data.    I don't run...so I have never used that feature.

4)  Mom's-  you are at the park/mall/store/trampoline park/theme park...
With the Apple Watch you do not need to have your iPhone in your hand or need to constantly check your phone.     You can focus on your kids HANDS FREE and not worry about someone stealing your iPhone that you have in the top of the stroller or side of your purse!
At Universal Studios my husband and I divided and conquered- he took the oldest- I took the youngest for an hour.   I never had my phone out-  I got all updates from him on my wrist- and I was able to respond back quickly thru the voice dictation to text him back.  SERIOUSLY, I have the 6PLUS and was tired of holding that huge monstrosity.  I now.. keep it in my bag... hands free...  this is the 2nd thing that makes the Apple Watch worth the $$$$.   **issue is photos.  If you use your phone for photos--- then you will need your phone in your reach.  But I have my DLSR I use, so my iPhone stays in my bag.

5) The battery life sucks... bad.

You will charge it EVERY night... so there goes sleep monitoring.    Hello Fitbit back on my wrist.

6)  Your tot will love the Mickey/Minnie faces-   when you click on them they say the time in their Disney voices.    Prepare to have your hand held hostage for 20 minutes so they can get their Mickey fix.

I overall love my $$$$ purchase...  busy working mom's-  you need this device.

Disneyland in the Rain with kids- here is your Ninja packing list:

Rainy days are the BEST days to go--- no lines- literally you can walk on to everything!   How to do Disney in the rain: 1) Everyone in 2 layers.   (thermal for kids) 2) Ponchos for the adults!    $5 at Walmart!  Buy an extra for the stroller- cover it well when you have it parked.  3)  Towels- when rides are wet and you are NOT because of your 2 layers and poncho, you don't want to get wet right?!   So put the towel down and sit on it.  4) Mattress waterproof crib pads- to cover legs of kid in stroller!    You see the purple rain boots- those are my 4 year olds.   Mattress pad (the baby ones at Walmart that fit a crib) over his legs.  Poncho on top. 5) Waterproof shoes for ALL!   (double socks) 6) a GOOD Weather app that tells you when RAIN is going to start.   We figured out the heavy rain was coming at 11am-2pm--so we left to take naps during that time.  7) Change of clothing- in case you get too wet. 8) a GREAT attitude of adventure.  You will get wet.. you will.

The NinjaMom's guide to a Princess Alaska cruise with kids!

I took my 7 year old and 3 year old up to Anchorage Alaska and boarded the Coral Princess Ship in Whittier- we spent 7 days going southbound to Vancouver.   Here is all of my tidbits... the good and the bad: Lets start with the good: 1) The bed is the MOST comfortable thing ever!  I wanted to take it home, my happy place was IN BED on the boat!  They even have a flyer that talks about the amazing mattresses!   (on my Christmas list) 2) Nature!  Princess does the nature of Alaska right!  The Naturalist on board (Gloeta) was amazing.  The ship brought on Rangers in Glacier Bay National Park (Where only 2 boats get to enter a day and very FEW companies have access to this National Park) there were many bridge wildlife talks, and lectures on Glaciers and Whales.   Princess does an amazing job on bringing Alaska alive to you!   (No, you do NOT need a balcony.  I had a window, and it was perfect on deck 5.   If you can afford it, great.. but I chose to spend more money on excur

My Do's and Don'ts: Great Wolf Lodge Anaheim, Ca (you can bring wine)

**I get nothing for this post, I paid full price for our room. You know me, I am all about giving advice when traveling...  I hope this is helpful: July 5-7 we were at the 2nd Happiest Place in Anaheim, Great Wolf Lodge (GWL).  Holiday weekend, you would think to steer clear...NOPE!    Do it!!!!!! .. this is a GREAT vacation! Imagine a large hotel room (we upgraded to the bunk bed cabin style for the kids).  They get own section of the room in a themed bunk bed with own TV (it's a BUNK bed, just do it).    Imagine a HUGE water park with lots to do, and not long lines... because only those staying at the hotel can go to the water park.. the longest line we waited in for a tube slide was 10 minutes.    They  have a lagoon area for the tiny tots, a HUGE play slide area for the pre-schoolers, and the rest for big kids (48inches) and bigger.     Money saving tip-  get the cheaper room, and book 60+ days in advance.  I found rates for $175 a night!   That is half what I paid!
