The things this Ninja Mom cannot live without...

If you asked me:   "Ok, you are moving to another state- and you could only bring a FEW things from your home... What would you bring?   Here is my list:

1) Essential Oils (EO's)    Just look to Pinterest- they are amazing (borderline miracle) remedies.   Basically type any ailment/issue you have- then "Essential Oil" into Pinterest- that is a good start.  I started with Young Living EO's because my youngest gets sick OFTEN!  I needed to support his immune system, and Pinterest kept showing me EOs (Thieves from Young Living).  So I met with a gal who explained them to me and bought the started kit.    Life.Changing!        My favorites:

  • Lavender- relax before bed & skin issues (use in moisturizer)
  • Vetiver- suppressed the Central Nervous System to everyone falls asleep FAST (no joke, you start to feel drowsy in 5 minutes).   I put it on hyper toddler before bed.  Imagine your husband is reading his phone in bed, you diffuse this...5 minutes later he is snoring.
  • Thieves:  A blend of many to help with immune system to fight off ickies- but also- a cleaning agent!  I brush my teeth with it- hello fresh mouth for hours and helps me not SNACK (weight loss tip).
  • PanAway: A blend that if Bengay on Steroids.  Pain reducer, muscle relaxer, etc.    Have pain? - put this on!
  • Frankincense:  Put straight on skin for flawless/glowing skin!   Treats anxiety, depression, mood, overall emotional health.  PLUS more.    This is a Miracle oil!  (Expensive, don't freak at the price- worth it).
  • Valor- Overall balancing and focus blend.   I diffuse for my ADHD husband and I put on my shoulders morning and night to help align my spine & balance me.
  • Lemon:  the cleaning ninja!   Lemon + Baking soda + water = make a paste.   Lather the paste all over the toilet.   10 minutes later spray on vinegar (let it fizzle). Wipe clean.   Amazing DEEP cleaning of the toilet.    I let my 2 year old go to town w/a spray bottle full of water and Lemon drops-  he cleans (and if he ingests it- good for him).
My vanity is full of oil bottles, and I keep trying new ones!    My oils even travel with me (which helped my husband when he got attacked by mosquitos {hello Lavender}).

2)  Scentsy!      Get the FLAME out of your house!   The wax melts on a lightbulb warmer and your home/space smells amazing.  The Scentsy wax lasts WAY longer than any store bought brand.    Do you ever look at your candles thinking "prob not a good idea!"  Well, here is the answer!
auggie.scentsy.us

I have been a consultant for over 10 years- I joined when the company was young.     I have all my warmers on timers so they go on and off every evening.   (HACK: you can add your oils to them too!)

3) Whole-House Fan.     I grew up in a mobile home with a swamp cooler- so having this system mimics that air flow.   We open up the windows, turn it on-  instant cooling & breeze in the whole house.   (Outside MUST be cooler for this to happen).    We also had a custom made security door put in, so we can leave the front door open ALL Night to let the air in thru the steel front.    The door has steel, no one will get in...  (not even bugs!)

4) YNAB- my budgeting tool.   Look to my other blogs about YNAB-  it's life changing.

5) Our Ashley Leather recliner sofa-  worth the $!   The Ashley Demacio.   All of my other Ashley pieces have lasted 15 years+  My other sofas have NO bends (cavern of sitting use) or signs of damaged wear (sure they are dirty..).    The cushions are still perfect (we use upstairs in the loft).   I won't deviate from Ashley (or Costco).

6) The YETI cup!  Ice lasts for days-    need I say more?

7)  My iMac (27in screen).  It's connected to iTunes so it acts like  a 2nd  TV for the kids in the kitchen.  As I cook they watch iTunes, PBS Kids, etc.  Lazy lunch days- they watch a movie and I have Football on the living room screen and have a beer.

8) Wine!  Our cheaper go to bottle: Apothic Red.  Other favs:  JLohr Cab.  Menage a Trois, and when we have the $$:  Estancia Meritage.  We a part of the local winery wine club, can't beat a date night at a winery that is 5 miles up the road :)

9) Arbonne Skin Care line.  I tried Clinique, Mary Kay-- Arbonne is amazing.   I noticed a difference in my skin the day I tried the R9 set.  Yes expensive, but I budget $44 a month for it...  manageable.     The R9 Advanced set...  add the make-up primer.  Goes on like silk!

10) My Pampered Chef RockCrok!   One pan that goes from stove to microwave to oven!   It's the one pot wonder--- Pinterest has all kinds of recipes for it.   Love, love, love!

What products do you LOVE and can't live without?   I want to hear about them... I love trying new things!

Disneyland in the Rain with kids- here is your Ninja packing list:

Rainy days are the BEST days to go--- no lines- literally you can walk on to everything!   How to do Disney in the rain: 1) Everyone in 2 layers.   (thermal for kids) 2) Ponchos for the adults!    $5 at Walmart!  Buy an extra for the stroller- cover it well when you have it parked.  3)  Towels- when rides are wet and you are NOT because of your 2 layers and poncho, you don't want to get wet right?!   So put the towel down and sit on it.  4) Mattress waterproof crib pads- to cover legs of kid in stroller!    You see the purple rain boots- those are my 4 year olds.   Mattress pad (the baby ones at Walmart that fit a crib) over his legs.  Poncho on top. 5) Waterproof shoes for ALL!   (double socks) 6) a GOOD Weather app that tells you when RAIN is going to start.   We figured out the heavy rain was coming at 11am-2pm--so we left to take naps during that time.  7) Change of clothing- in case you get too wet. 8) a GREAT attitude of adventure.  You will get wet.. you will.

The NinjaMom's guide to a Princess Alaska cruise with kids!

I took my 7 year old and 3 year old up to Anchorage Alaska and boarded the Coral Princess Ship in Whittier- we spent 7 days going southbound to Vancouver.   Here is all of my tidbits... the good and the bad: Lets start with the good: 1) The bed is the MOST comfortable thing ever!  I wanted to take it home, my happy place was IN BED on the boat!  They even have a flyer that talks about the amazing mattresses!   (on my Christmas list) 2) Nature!  Princess does the nature of Alaska right!  The Naturalist on board (Gloeta) was amazing.  The ship brought on Rangers in Glacier Bay National Park (Where only 2 boats get to enter a day and very FEW companies have access to this National Park) there were many bridge wildlife talks, and lectures on Glaciers and Whales.   Princess does an amazing job on bringing Alaska alive to you!   (No, you do NOT need a balcony.  I had a window, and it was perfect on deck 5.   If you can afford it, great.. but I chose to spend more money on excur

My Do's and Don'ts: Great Wolf Lodge Anaheim, Ca (you can bring wine)

**I get nothing for this post, I paid full price for our room. You know me, I am all about giving advice when traveling...  I hope this is helpful: July 5-7 we were at the 2nd Happiest Place in Anaheim, Great Wolf Lodge (GWL).  Holiday weekend, you would think to steer clear...NOPE!    Do it!!!!!! .. this is a GREAT vacation! Imagine a large hotel room (we upgraded to the bunk bed cabin style for the kids).  They get own section of the room in a themed bunk bed with own TV (it's a BUNK bed, just do it).    Imagine a HUGE water park with lots to do, and not long lines... because only those staying at the hotel can go to the water park.. the longest line we waited in for a tube slide was 10 minutes.    They  have a lagoon area for the tiny tots, a HUGE play slide area for the pre-schoolers, and the rest for big kids (48inches) and bigger.     Money saving tip-  get the cheaper room, and book 60+ days in advance.  I found rates for $175 a night!   That is half what I paid!
